ASBESTOS

When asbestos fibers are disturbed and become airborne, the fibers can cause significant health problems. However, asbestos is not always an immediate hazard. In fact, if it can be maintained in good condition, the EPA recommends that it be managed in place and periodically monitored.

We are experienced in finding the best, most practical ways to remove asbestos or manage it in place in accordance with federal and state regulations and with our clients’ cost considerations in mind. We conduct commercial and residential asbestos identification surveys to identify friable and non-friable asbestos-containing materials, visually inspect and evaluate the materials, collect samples and interpret the results to verify asbestos content and condition, and assess the potential human health risk.

The scientific data are then used to prepare an asbestos management plan that meets regulatory requirements and puts in place appropriate safeguards. The penalty for noncompliance is significant, and we educate our clients so they fully understand their rights and responsibilities. We also provide formal training to explain health hazards and our mitigation strategy. We manage our clients’ problem in its entirety, even representing our clients in communications with the state of Colorado.

If asbestos removal is necessary,  S&R Environmental can provide qualified Air Monitoring Specialists that provide regulatory compliance, over site, and project management to the process.
